     Edward Ambrose Holbech was born on 21 May 1917 at Warmington, Oxfordshire, England.2 He was the son of Ronald Herbert Acland Holbech and Catherine Emma Hoskyns.2 He married Doris Joan Nicholas, daughter of Captain Basil Gordon Nicholas, on 3 September 1938 at Stratford-on-Avon, Warwickshire, England.2 He died on 6 September 1945 at age 28, in a motor accident.2
     He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.)2 He lived at Farnborough Hall, Banbury, Oxfordshire, England.1
