     Eleanor Stratten Curtis was born on 5 November 1827.1 She was the daughter of Charles Curtis.1 She married Reverend John Thomas Layard, son of Reverend Brownlow Villiers Layard and Sarah Jane Margary, on 31 October 1850.1 She died on 8 February 1880 at age 52.1
      From 31 October 1850, her married name became Layard.1
