Heinrich II Landgraf von Hessen was born circa 1299.2 He was the son of Otto I Landgraf von Hessen and Adelheid Gräfin von Ravensburg.1,2 He married Elisabeth von Meißen, daughter of Friedrich I Markgraf von Meißen and Elisabeth Gräfin von Lobdaburg-Arnshaugk, circa 1319. He and Elisabeth von Meißen were divorced in 1340. He died on 3 June 1376.2
Heinrich II Landgraf von Hessen also went by the nick-name of Heinrich 'Ironside'.1 He succeeded to the title of Landgraf von Hessen in 1328.1
