     Brig.-Gen. Hon. James Francis Erskine was born on 4 June 1862.2 He was the son of Sir Henry David Erskine and Lady Horatia Elizabeth Seymour.1 He married Margaret Beatrix Lambton, daughter of Henry Lambton, on 10 December 1896.2 He died on 26 June 1936 at age 74.2
     Brig.-Gen. Hon.      Brigadier Malcolm David Erskine was born on 31 August 1903.2 He was the son of Brig.-Gen. Hon. James Francis Erskine and Margaret Beatrix Lambton.1 He died on 27 October 1949 at age 46, disappeared while on a flight over the Malayan jungle.1
     Brigadier Malcolm David Erskine fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Brigadier in the service of the Scots Guards.2 He was decorated with the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1943.2 He was invested as a Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1949 posthumous.2
