     Ursula Norton-Griffiths was born on 27 February 1903.1 She was the daughter of Sir John Norton-Griffiths, 1st Bt. and Gwladys Wood.2 She married John Henry Thorpe, son of Venerable John Henry Thorpe and Martha Aylmer Hall, on 19 December 1922.1 She died on 8 August 1992 at age 89.1
     From 19 December 1922, her married name became Thorpe. She held the office of Member of the Surrey County Council between 1949 and 1961.1 She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Surrey in 1955.1

     Venerable John Henry Thorpe was born in 1855 at Liverpool, Lancashire, England.2 He married, firstly, Martha Aylmer Hall, daughter of Robert Constable Hall and Geraldine Maria Aylmer, circa 1885.2 He died on 7 January 1932 at Chester, Cheshire, England.2
     He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He graduated with a Bachelor of Divinity (B.D.)1 He was Vicar at St. George's, Stockport, Cheshire, England.3 He held the office of Archdeacon of Macclesfield between 1921 and 1932.1,2

     John Henry Thorpe was born on 7 August 1887 at Cork, County Cork, Ireland.2 He was the son of Venerable John Henry Thorpe and Martha Aylmer Hall.3 He married Ursula Norton-Griffiths, daughter of Sir John Norton-Griffiths, 1st Bt. and Gwladys Wood, on 19 December 1922.1 He died on 31 October 1944 at age 57.2
     He was a practising barrister.1 He was educated at St. John's School, Leatherhead, Surrey, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He held the office of Recorder of Blackburn.1 He was appointed King's Counsel (K.C.)1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Rusholme between 1919 and 1924.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He was Deputy Chairmam of Middlesex Quarter Sessions.1
