     Lt.-Cdr. Gerald Francoys Needham Knox, 7th Earl of Ranfurly was born on 4 January 1929. He is the son of Captain John Needham Knox and Monica Kitson. He married Rosemary Beatrice Vesey Holt, daughter of Air Vice Marshal Felton Vesey Holt, on 22 January 1955.
     Lt.-Cdr. Gerald Francoys Needham Knox, 7th Earl of Ranfurly gained the title of 7th Earl of Ranfurly. He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the service of the Royal Navy.

     Her married name became Knox.
