     Admiral Sir Peter Halkett of Pitferrane, 6th Bt. was born in 1765.2 He was the son of Sir John Wedderburn Halkett of Pitferrane, 4th Bt. and Mary Hamilton.2 He married Elizabeth Todd, daughter of William Todd, on 14 October 1802.2 He died on 7 October 1839.2
     He gained the rank of Admiral of the Blue.2 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Hanoverian Order (G.C.H.)2 He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Halkett, of Pitferrane [N.S., 1697] on 26 January 1837.1

     He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was the Vicar at Sutton-at-Home, Kent, England.1
