     Lt.-Col. James Dalrymple was the son of Sir James Dalrymple of Hailes, 2nd Bt. and Lady Christian Hamilton.2 He married Elizabeth St. Clair, daughter of Charles St. Clair of Herdmanston and Elizabeth Hume, on 2 September 1773.1 He died on 21 November 1791, without issue.2
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Scots Regiment.2

Andrew St. Clair1

     Andrew St. Clair was the son of Matthew St. Clair and Elizabeth Carr.2 He married Elizabeth Drummond, daughter of James Drummond of Blair Drummond, on 7 November 1736.1 He died on 25 October 1760.1
     He was Professor of Medicine in 1726 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He was Physician to the King in 1733.1

     From 14 September 1830, her married name became St. Clair.

     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Indian Engineering College, Cooper's Hill, Surrey, EnglandG.1 He was with the Public Works Department, India between 1876 and 1904.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.)1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)1 He was Secretary to Government CP between 1902 and 1904.1 He was commander of Division, Metropolitan Special Constabulary in 1916.1
