     Herbert Dixon, 1st Baron Glentoran was born on 23 January 1880. He married Hon. Emily Ina Florence Bingham, daughter of John George Barry Bingham, 5th Baron Clanmorris of Newbrook and Matilda Catherine Maude Ward, on 25 November 1905.1 He died on 20 July 1950 at age 70.
     Herbert Dixon, 1st Baron Glentoran was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.).1 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.).1 He gained the title of 1st Baron Glentoran.
