     Reverend William Chetwynd-Stapylton was born on 15 May 1825.1 He was the son of Major Henry Richard Chetwynd-Stapylton and Margaret Hammond.2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Biscoe Tritton, daughter of Reverend Robert Tritton and Mary Biscoe, on 26 October 1852.1 He married, secondly, Mary Elizabeth Johnson, daughter of Frederick Johnson, on 21 April 1898.1 He died on 4 March 1919 at age 93 at Wells, Norfolk, England.3
     He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was the Rector between 1893 and 1907 at Hallaton, Leicestershire, England. He held the office of Hon. Canon of Rochester.1
