     Sir William Traven Aitken was born on 10 June 1903.1 He was the son of Joseph Magnus Aitken and Katherine Margaret McAffee.1 He married Hon. Penelope Loader Maffey, daughter of Sir John Loader Maffey, 1st Baron of Rugby and Dorothy Gladys Huggins, on 28 April 1938.1 He died on 19 January 1964 at age 60.1
     Sir William Traven Aitken held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Bury St. Edmunds between 1950 and 1964.1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1963.1
