Vice-Admiral Noel Stephen Fox Digby was born on 2 October 1839. He was the son of Captain George Somerville Digby and Lady Emily Jane Butler. He married, firstly, Ethel Dorothea Spicer, daughter of Reverend William Webb Spicer, on 9 July 1879. He married, secondly, Isabella Frances Drake, daughter of Henry Drake, on 28 November 1893. He died on 18 January 1920 at age 80.
