     Sir Benjamin Louis Cohen, 1st Bt. was born on 18 November 1844.1 He was the son of Louis Cohen and Rebecca Floretta Keyser.2 He married Louisa Emily Merton, daughter of Benjamin Moses Merton, on 27 April 1870.1 He died on 8 November 1909 at age 64.1
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for London.1 He held the office of Member of the London City Council between 1888 and 1901.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Kent.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for East Islington between 1892 and 1906.1 He held the office of Lieutenant of the City of London.1 He was created 1st Baronet Cohen, of Highfield, Shoreham, Kent [U.K.] on 19 December 1905.1

     Louisa Emily Merton was the daughter of Benjamin Moses Merton.2 She married Sir Benjamin Louis Cohen, 1st Bt., son of Louis Cohen and Rebecca Floretta Keyser, on 27 April 1870.1 She died on 20 November 1931.1
     From 27 April 1870, her married name became Cohen.

     Sir Herbert Benjamin Cohen, 2nd Bt. was born on 26 April 1874.1 He was the son of Sir Benjamin Louis Cohen, 1st Bt. and Louisa Emily Merton.2 He married Hannah Mildred Behrens, daughter of Henry Behrens, on 26 March 1907.1 He died on 23 April 1968 at age 93.1
     He was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, England.1 He graduated from King's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1895 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1898 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He graduated from King's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1899 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He gained the rank of Major in the 4th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Cohen, of Highfield, Shoreham, Kent [U.K., 1905] on 8 November 1909.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.1 On his death his baronetcy expired.1

     Hannah Mildred Behrens usually went by her middle name of Nina.1 From 26 March 1907, her married name became Cohen.
