George Joseph Vavasour was born on 18 July 1824.1 He was the son of Hon. Sir Edward Marmaduke Joseph Vavasour, 1st Bt. and Marcia Bridget Lane-Fox. He married, firstly, Amalia Ernestina Elizabatha Bell, daughter of Carl Theodor Bell, on 5 October 1850. He married, secondly, Anne Heppenstall, daughter of John Heppenstall, on 29 April 1880. He and Anne Heppenstall were divorced on 2 July 1889. He died on 25 March 1895 at age 70, without issue.1
