     Hon. Thomas William Best was born on 23 January 1844.1 He was the son of Hon. Reverend Samuel Best and Emma Duke.2 He married Harriet Royds Grey, daughter of Henry Anthony Grey, on 16 September 1879.1 He died on 3 January 1909 at age 64.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the West Riding Regiment.1 He held the office of Chief Constable of Merionethshire between 1883 and 1907.1 On 6 May 1904 he was granted the rank of a baron's younger son.1

     John Samuel Best was born on 28 July 1883.1 He was the son of Hon. Thomas William Best and Harriet Royds Grey.2 He married Anne Stewart Jamieson, daughter of James Topp Jamieson, on 7 September 1912.1 He died on 21 April 1940 at age 56, without issue.1
     He was educated at Shrewsbury School, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England.1 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was a tea planter at Assam, Bengal, India.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Gloucestershire in 1930.1

     Humphrey Willie Best was born on 2 July 1884.1 He was the son of Hon. Thomas William Best and Harriet Royds Grey.2 He married Helen Grace Meakin, daughter of Lewis James Meakin, on 28 July 1914.1 He died on 29 April 1959 at age 74.1
     He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1919.1 He gained the rank of Commodore in 1939.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1944.1
