     Laurence Richard Philipps, 1st Baron Milford was born on 24 January 1874 at Warminster, Wiltshire, England. He was the son of Reverend Sir James Erasmus Philipps, 12th Bt. and Hon. Mary Margaret Best. He married Ethel Georgina Speke, daughter of Reverend Benjamin Speke, on 10 April 1901. He died after 1961.
     Laurence Richard Philipps, 1st Baron Milford gained the title of 1st Baron Milford.
