     Sir Alexander Gibson of Durie was the son of Sir Alexander Gibson of Durie and Cecilia Fotheringham.1 He married Marjory Murray, daughter of Sir Andrew Murray, 1st Lord Balvaird and Lady Elizabeth Carnegie.1 He died on 6 August 1661 at Durie, Scotland.2
     He was Commissioner to Parliament for England for Fife and Kinross between 1656 and 1659.2 He was Commissioner to Parliament for England for Kinross in 1659.2
