     Michael Campbell Devas was the son of Geoffrey Charles Devas and Joan Campbell Bannerman.1 He married, firstly, Patience Merryday Stern, daughter of Sir Albert Gerald Stern and Helen Merryday Orr-Lewis, in 1952.1 He and Patience Merryday Stern were divorced in 1967.1 He married, secondly, Gillian Barbara Hewett, daughter of Colonel Henry Micklam Prescott Hewett and Mary Nina Catherine Beatrice Atwood, in 1967.1 He died on 4 May 2007.1
     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1
