     Captain John Henry Mark Fane was born on 28 July 1917.1 He was the son of Major Henry Nevile Fane and Hon. Harriet Hepburn-Stuart-Forbes-Trefusis.2 He and Catherine Adelaide Anne Dyer were divorced in 1954.1 He married, secondly, Eleanor Sybil Ruth Archdeacon, daughter of Albert Henry Archdeacon, in 1954.1 He and Eleanor Sybil Ruth Archdeacon were divorced in 1962. He married, thirdly, Elizabeth Cowell, daughter of Kenneth W. Cowell, in 1964.1 He married, firstly, Catherine Adelaide Anne Dyer, daughter of Gabriel Noel Dyer, on 23 June 1939.1 He died on 31 July 1995 at age 78.1
     Captain John Henry Mark Fane fought in the Second World War, where he became a POW and then escaped.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Green Howards.1 He was invested as a Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1944.1
