     Sir Richard Grierson of Lag, 7th Bt. was born in 1804.2 He was the son of Sir Alexander Gilbert Grierson of Lag, 6th Bt. and Elizabeth Dalzell.1 He married Eleanor Bell.1 He died on 5 May 1846 at Mouswald, Dumfries-shire, Scotland, without surviving male issue.1,2 He was buried at Mouswald Parish Church, Mouswald, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.2
     He succeeded to the title of 7th Baronet Grierson, of Lag, co. Dumfries [N.S., 1685] in 1840.1

     Eleanor Bell married, firstly, Sir Richard Grierson of Lag, 7th Bt., son of Sir Alexander Gilbert Grierson of Lag, 6th Bt. and Elizabeth Dalzell.2 She married, secondly, Lieutenant Alexander Buchanan, son of Thomas Buchanan and Hon. Catherine Abercromby, on 8 October 1850.2 She died on 2 October 1854.2 She was buried at Mouswald Parish Church, Mouswald, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.1
      Her married name became Grierson.2 She was also known as Helen.3 From 8 October 1850, her married name became Buchanan.2

Lieutenant Alexander Buchanan1

     Lieutenant Alexander Buchanan was the son of Thomas Buchanan and Hon. Catherine Abercromby.2 He married Eleanor Bell on 8 October 1850.1 He died on 18 December 1855, without issue.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 79th Foot.2

     Sir Alexander William Grierson of Lag, 8th Bt. was baptised on 7 August 1806 at Dalton, Scotland.2 He was the son of Sir Alexander Gilbert Grierson of Lag, 6th Bt. and Elizabeth Dalzell.1 He married Anne Day, daughter of Robert Day, on 12 August 1847 at St. Clement Danes, Westminster, London, England.1,2 He died on 27 December 1879 at age 73 at Southsea, Hampshire, England, without issue.1
     He gained the rank of officer in the service of the 78th Foot (Ross-shire Highlanders).1 He succeeded to the title of 8th Baronet Grierson, of Lag, co. Dumfries [N.S., 1685] on 5 May 1846.1

     Anne Day was the daughter of Robert Day.1 She married Sir Alexander William Grierson of Lag, 8th Bt., son of Sir Alexander Gilbert Grierson of Lag, 6th Bt. and Elizabeth Dalzell, on 12 August 1847 at St. Clement Danes, Westminster, London, England.1,2 She died on 3 January 1891.1
      From 12 August 1847, her married name became Grierson.1

     Commander William Charles Grierson was born on 12 July 1815.2 He was the son of Sir Alexander Gilbert Grierson of Lag, 6th Bt. and Elizabeth Dalzell.1 He married Emma Sophia Comerford, daughter of Michael Comerford, on 3 October 1854.2 He died on 8 February 1871 at age 55 at Thornhill, Bittern, Hampshire, England.1,3
     He gained the rank of Commander in the service of the Royal Navy.1

     Emma Sophia Comerford was born circa 1820 at Kingston, Hampshire, England.2 She was the daughter of Michael Comerford.1 She married, firstly, Thomas West.1 She married, secondly, Commander William Charles Grierson, son of Sir Alexander Gilbert Grierson of Lag, 6th Bt. and Elizabeth Dalzell, on 3 October 1854.3 She died on 7 January 1900.3
      Her married name became West.1 From 3 October 1854, her married name became Grierson.1
