     Sir Richard Grierson of Lag, 7th Bt. was born in 1804.2 He was the son of Sir Alexander Gilbert Grierson of Lag, 6th Bt. and Elizabeth Dalzell.1 He married Helen Bell.1 He died on 5 May 1846 at Mouswald, Dumfries-shire, Scotland, without surviving male issue.1,2 He was buried at Mouswald Parish Church, Mouswald, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.2
     Sir Richard Grierson of Lag, 7th Bt. succeeded to the title of 7th Baronet Grierson, of Lag, co. Dumfries [N.S., 1685] in 1840.1

     Helen Bell married, firstly, Sir Richard Grierson of Lag, 7th Bt., son of Sir Alexander Gilbert Grierson of Lag, 6th Bt. and Elizabeth Dalzell.2 She married, secondly, Lieutenant Alexander Buchanan, son of Thomas Buchanan and Hon. Catherine Abercromby, on 8 October 1850.2 She died on 2 October 1854.2 She was buried at Mouswald Parish Church, Mouswald, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.3
     Helen Bell was also known as Eleanor.3 Her married name became Grierson.2 From 8 October 1850, her married name became Buchanan.2

     Sir Alexander William Grierson of Lag, 8th Bt. gained the rank of officer in the service of the 78th Foot (Ross-shire Highlanders).1 He succeeded to the title of 8th Baronet Grierson, of Lag, co. Dumfries [N.S., 1685] on 5 May 1846.1
