James Hamilton, 9th Lord Belhaven and Stenton1

     James Hamilton, 9th Lord Belhaven and Stenton was born on 29 August 1822.2 He was the son of Archibald Hamilton and Mary Clarke.1,2 He married Georgina Watson, daughter of Sir John Watson, 1st Bt. and Agnes Simpson, on 30 October 1877.2 He died on 6 September 1893 at age 71 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG, withou male issue.2
     He succeeded as the 9th Lord Belhaven and Stenton, co. Haddington [S., 1647] on 22 December 1868.2 On 3 August 1875 his title of Lord Belhaven and Stenton was confirmed in his favour by the House of Lords.2
