     Sir Percy Lytham Loraine, 12th Bt. was born on 5 November 1880.² He was the son of Rear-Admiral Sir Lambton Loraine, 11th Bt. and Frederica Mary Horatia Vere-Broke.² He married Louise Violet Beatrice Montagu-Stuart-Wortley, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Hon. Edward James Montagu-Stuart-Wortley and Violet Hunter Guthrie, on 23 October 1924.^1,2 He died on 23 May 1961 at age 80.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.³ He was educated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.³ He fought in the Boer War between 1901 and 1902.³ He was with the Diplomatic Service between 1904 and 1940.³ He succeeded as the 12th Baronet Loraine, of Kirkharle, Northumberland [E., 1664] on 13 May 1917.⁴ He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1921.³ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1925.³ He held the office of Ambassador to Turkey between 1933 and 1939.³ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 21 December 1933.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.) in 1937.¹ He held the office of Ambassador to Italy between 1939 and 1940.³ On his death his baronetcy became extinct.³

     Dorothea Jane Riley is the daughter of Ronald Riley.¹ She married William Ralph Montagu-Stuart-Wortley, son of Alan Ralph Montagu-Stuart-Wortley and Virginia Anne Claybaugh, in 1985.¹
