     Richard Alan Montagu Montagu-Stuart-Wortley, 5th Earl of Wharncliff was born on 26 May 1953. He is the son of Alan Ralph Montagu-Stuart-Wortley and Virginia Anne Claybaugh. He married Mary Elizabeth Reed, daughter of Reverend William W. Reed, in 1979.
     Richard Alan Montagu Montagu-Stuart-Wortley, 5th Earl of Wharncliff gained the title of Viscount Carlton. He gained the title of 5th Earl of Wharncliffe.

     Sir John Bagot was the son of Ralph Bagot and Elizabeth de Blithfield.1 He married Beatrice Villiers, daughter of Sir John Villiers.1 He died in 1437.1
     Sir John Bagot fought in the campaign in Spain in 1386, serving with John of Gaunt.1 He held the office of Lieutenant of Calais in 1408.1 He fought in the Battle of Agincourt in 1415.1 He lived at Blithfield, Staffordshire, England.1

     Ralph Bagot was born after 1331.1 He was the son of Sir John Bagot and Eglina Mallory.1 He married Elizabeth de Blithfield, daughter of John de Blithfield.1 He died circa 1376.1
     His wife brought him the manors of Blithfield and Littlehay, Staffordshire.1 He lived at Bagot's Bromley, Staffordshire, England.1
