James Francis Bernard, 4th Earl of Bandon was born on 12 September 1850.1 He was the son of Francis Bernard, 3rd Earl of Bandon and Catherine Mary Whitmore.1 He married Hon. Georgiana Dorothea Harriet Evans-Freke, daughter of George Patrick Percy Evans-Freke, 7th Baron Carbery and Harriet Maria Catherine Shuldham, on 22 June 1876 at St. Michael's, Chester Square, London, England.1 He died on 18 May 1924 at age 73 at 23 Prince's Gardens, London, England.2
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He held the office of Sheriff of County Cork in 1875.1 He held the office of State Steward to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland between 1876 and 1877.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of County Cork in 1877.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Viscount Bandon, of Bandonbridge, co. Georgiana Dorothea Harriet Evans-Freke was born on 3 November 1853.1 She was the daughter of George Patrick Percy Evans-Freke, 7th Baron Carbery and Harriet Maria Catherine Shuldham.1 She married James Francis Bernard, 4th Earl of Bandon, son of Francis Bernard, 3rd Earl of Bandon and Catherine Mary Whitmore, on 22 June 1876 at St. Michael's, Chester Square, London, England.1 She died on 29 June 1942 at age 88.2
