     Lieutenant Spencer Lawrence Ponsonby was born on 12 April 1896.1 He was the son of Hugh Spencer Ponsonby and Anita Magdalene Feuerheerd.1 He died on 12 January 1916 at age 19, from wounds received in action.1
     Lieutenant Spencer Lawrence Ponsonby fought in the First World War. He gained the rank of Temporary Lieutenant in the service of the 12th Service Battalion, Middlesex Regiment.1
