     Arthur Duncombe-Shafto was the son of Charles Othwell Duncombe-Shafto.1 He married Marguerite Cecil Catherine Stapleton, daughter of Lt.-Col. Richard Talbot Plantagenet Stapleton and Emma Shafto, on 6 April 1904.1 He died on 19 August 1914 at France, killed in action.1
     He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He fought in the First World War.1

     From 6 April 1904, her married name became Duncombe-Shafto.1
