     He was given the name of Pryse Lovenden at birth.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Cardiganshire in 1861.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Pryse, of Gogerddan, co. Cardigan [U.K.] on 28 July 1863.¹ On 28 July 1863 his name was legally changed to Pryse Pryse by Royal Licence.¹ He gained the rank of Cornet in the Royal Horse Guards.¹

     Sir Lewes Thomas Lovedon Pryse, 3rd Bt. was born on 5 February 1864.¹ He was the son of Sir Pryse Pryse, 1st Bt. and Louisa Joan Lewes.¹ He married, firstly, Florence Madeline Howell, daughter of Colonel Frederick Robert Howell, on 23 October 1894.¹ He and Florence Madeline Howell were divorced in 1938 for desertion.¹ He married, secondly, Gwendoline Marjorie Powell, daughter of Colonel David Powell, on 29 October 1938.¹ He died on 23 May 1946 at age 82.¹
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Pryse, of Gogerddan, co. Cardigan [U.K., 1866] on 20 October 1918.¹
