     Freda Mary Meates is the daughter of Sidney Meates.¹ She married Sir Alfred Fothringham Slade, 5th Bt., son of Sir Cuthbert Slade, 4th Bt. and Kathleen Scovell, on 29 April 1922.¹

     Sir Michael Nial Slade, 6th Bt. was born on 30 July 1900.² He was the son of Sir Cuthbert Slade, 4th Bt. and Kathleen Scovell.^2,3 He married Angela Clare Rosalind Chichester, daughter of Orlando Chichester and Isabel Clare Parks-Smith, on 7 May 1928.¹ He died on 15 April 1962 at age 61.²
     Sir Michael Nial Slade, 6th Bt. was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.² He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.² He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Somerset Light Infantry.² He succeeded to the title of 6th Baronet Slade, of Maunsel House, Somerset [U.K., 1831] on 28 October 1960.⁴

     Angela Clare Rosalind Chichester was born on 16 January 1909.¹ She was the daughter of Orlando Chichester and Isabel Clare Parks-Smith.² She married Sir Michael Nial Slade, 6th Bt., son of Sir Cuthbert Slade, 4th Bt. and Kathleen Scovell, on 7 May 1928.¹ She died on 4 September 1959 at age 50.¹
     From 7 May 1928, her married name became Slade.

     Orlando Chichester was born on 6 November 1873.¹ He was the son of Sir Arthur Chichester, 8th Bt. and Mary Nicholetts.^2,1 He married Isabel Clare Parks-Smith, daughter of Egerton Parks-Smith, on 8 April 1899.¹ He died on 3 March 1933 at age 59.¹
     Orlando Chichester gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 6th Battalion, Devon Regiment.¹ He lived at The Warren, Shirwell, Devon, England.

     Isabel Clare Parks-Smith was the daughter of Egerton Parks-Smith.² She married Orlando Chichester, son of Sir Arthur Chichester, 8th Bt. and Mary Nicholetts, on 8 April 1899.¹ She died on 28 February 1952.¹
     From 8 April 1899, her married name became Chichester.

     
     Egerton Parks-Smith lived at Clifton, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England.¹ He gained the rank of officer in the service of the Royal Artillery.¹

     Sir Arthur Chichester, 8th Bt. was born on 4 October 1822 at Youlston, Devon, England.³ He was the son of Sir Arthur Chichester, 7th Bt. and Charlotte Hamlyn-Williams.² He married, firstly, Mary Nicholetts, daughter of John Nicholetts, on 20 November 1847.¹ He married, secondly, Rosalie Amelia Chamberlayne, daughter of Thomas Chamberlayne, on 23 January 1883.¹ He died on 13 July 1898 at age 75 at Youlston, Devon, England.³ His will was probated, at £106,673 gross and £4,831 net.³
     Sir Arthur Chichester, 8th Bt. was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.³ He succeeded to the title of 8th Baronet Chichester, of Raleigh, co. Devon [E., 1641] on 30 May 1842.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in 1847 in the service of the 7th Hussars.³ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Devon.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Devon.¹ He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in 1862 in the service of the North Devon Yeomanry Cavalry.³

     Mary Nicholetts was the daughter of John Nicholetts.² She married Sir Arthur Chichester, 8th Bt., son of Sir Arthur Chichester, 7th Bt. and Charlotte Hamlyn-Williams, on 20 November 1847.¹ She died on 28 June 1879 at Youlston, Devon, England.³
     From 20 November 1847, her married name became Chichester.
