     Major Denis Erskine Ward was born on 8 October 1912.1 He was the son of Major George Louis Steuart Ward and Alice Muriel Harrison.1 He married Kathleen Beryl Kyle Susan Cotter, daughter of Major Raymond Kyle Cotter and Beryl Jessica Macdonald Wintle, on 20 April 1942.1 He died on 27 October 1942 at age 30 at El Alamein, Egypt, killed in action.1 He died on 27 October 1942 at age 30, killed in action.2
     Major Denis Erskine Ward gained the rank of Major in the service of the Royal Tank Regiment.1 He fought in the Battle of El Alamein in October 1942.

     Kathleen Beryl Kyle Susan Cotter was born on 14 March 1915.3 She is the daughter of Major Raymond Kyle Cotter and Beryl Jessica Macdonald Wintle.1,2 She married, firstly, Reginald Barnes Elwin on 19 December 1933.3 She and Reginald Barnes Elwin were divorced in 1942.3 She married, secondly, Major Denis Erskine Ward, son of Major George Louis Steuart Ward and Alice Muriel Harrison, on 20 April 1942.1 She married, thirdly, Reginald Barnes Elwin on 5 July 1946.1 She married, fourthly, Stanley Chapman in 1978.3

     Sir Joseph Henry Bernard Doughty-Tichborne, 13th Bt. was born on 18 January 1890. He was the son of Sir Henry Alfred Joseph Doughty-Tichborne, 12th Bt. and Mary Gwendoline Petre. He married Denise Dorothy Marie Emilie Greville, daughter of Lt.-Col. Henry Algernon Fulke Charles Ferdinand Stephan Greville and Eileen Mary McDonnell, on 25 June 1913. He died on 23 October 1930 at age 40.
     Sir Joseph Henry Bernard Doughty-Tichborne, 13th Bt. gained the title of 13th Baron Doughty-Tichborne.
