He married Elizabeth Rosemary Laurie, daughter of Brigadier Sir Percy Robert Laurie and Ethel Frances Lawson-Johnston, on 9 June 1954.
     Colonel Malcolm Frank Douglas-Pennant, 6th Baron Penrhyn gained the title of 6th Baron Penrhyn.

     Elizabeth Rosemary Laurie is the daughter of Brigadier Sir Percy Robert Laurie and Ethel Frances Lawson-Johnston. She married Colonel Malcolm Frank Douglas-Pennant, 6th Baron Penrhyn, son of Frank Douglas-Pennant, 5th Baron Penrhyn and Alice Nellie Cooper, on 9 June 1954.
     Her married name became Douglas-Pennant.
