     William Arbuthnot was born on 14 April 1833 at London, EnglandG.1,2 He was the son of John Alves Arbuthnot and Mary Arbuthnot.1 He married, firstly, Adolphine Eliza Macleod Lecot, daughter of Edward Lecot, on 5 January 1858.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Rosa Campbell, daughter of John Campbell, 5th of Knockbury and 9th of Kilberry and Rosa MacBean, on 12 July 1865.1 He died on 9 February 1896 at age 62.1
