     Anne Alves was the daughter of John Alves and Helen Baillie.1,2 She married Sir William Arbuthnot, 1st Bt., son of Robert Arbuthnot and Mary Urquhart, on 13 September 1800.1 She died on 19 July 1846.1
     From 13 September 1800, her married name became Arbuthnot.1

     John Alves Arbuthnot was born on 3 October 1802 at Queen Street, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1,2 He was the son of Sir William Arbuthnot, 1st Bt. and Anne Alves.1 He married Mary Arbuthnot, daughter of George Arbuthnot and Elizabeth Fraser, on 2 June 1832 at Marylebone, London, England.1,2 He died on 2 August 1875 at age 72.1
     John Alves Arbuthnot was founding partner of Arbuthnot Latham & Company.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1 He lived at Coworth Park, Old Windsor, Berkshire, England.1
