     Diana Mary Portman was born on 10 August 1923. She was the daughter of Brigadier Guy Maurice Berkeley Portman and Miriam Katharine Taylor. She married Raymond Guy Manning on 4 February 1945. She died on 19 February 1945 at age 21 at Italy, killed in a flying accident with her husband.
     Her married name became Manning.

     Sir Lawrence Edward Broomfield Palk, 4th Baron Haldon was born on 13 May 1896.1 He was the son of Sir Lawrence William Palk, 3rd Baron Haldon and Lidiana Amalia Creszencia Maichle.1 He died on 16 August 1938 at age 42.1
     Sir Lawrence Edward Broomfield Palk, 4th Baron Haldon was educated at Beaumont College, Old Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the First World War, in Gallipoli, Egypt and Mesopotamia.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Engineers.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baron Haldon, of Haldon, co. Devon [U.K., 1880] on 12 January 1933.1 He succeeded to the title of 7th Baronet Palk, of Haldon House, in Haldon, co. Devon [G.B., 1782] on 12 January 1933.1
