     David Charles of Mar, Lord Garioch was born in 1944. He was the son of James Clifton of Mar, 30th Earl of Mar and Millicent Mary Salton. He died on 8 January 1967, unmarried.1
     David Charles of Mar, Lord Garioch was baptised with the name of David Charles Lane.1 He was educated at Gosfield School, Essex, England.1 He was styled as Master of Mar in 1959.1 On 1959 his name was legally changed to David Charles of Mar recognised by the Lord Lyon.1 He was styled as Lord Garioch in 1959.1

     Mary Knapp was born before 1814. She was the daughter of Reverend Primatt Knapp.1 She married Rev. Hon. Charles George Perceval, son of Charles George Perceval, 2nd Baron Arden and Margaretta Elizabeth Wilson, on 21 April 1829.1 She died on 6 November 1832.1
     Her married name became Perceval.
