Gartnach, 1st Earl of Buchan1

     Gartnach, 1st Earl of Buchan was the son of Cainreach (?) and Ete (?)1 He died after 1132.1
     He was created 1st Earl of Buchan [Scotland] circa 1115.1 In 1115 he was a witness to the charter of Scone.1

Maria Louisa Cullen Campbell1

     Maria Louisa Cullen Campbell was the daughter of Colonel Alexander Campbell.1 She married, firstly, John Cadwallader Erskine, 4th Baron Erskine of Restormel Castle, son of David Montagu Erskine, 2nd Baron Erskine of Restormel Castle and Frances Cadwallader, on 25 January 1865 at Shinfield, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 She married, secondly, Philip Henry Egerton, son of William Egerton and Sibella Boswell, on 20 October 1886 at Christ Church, Paddington, London, EnglandG.2 She died on 12 April 1889.2
     From 25 January 1865, her married name became Erskine.1 After her marriage, Maria Louisa Cullen Campbell was styled as Baroness Erskine of Restormel Castle on 10 May 1877. From 20 October 1886, her married name became Egerton.1

     Lt.-Col. Hon. David Erskine was born in 1816.1 He was the son of David Montagu Erskine, 2nd Baron Erskine of Restormel Castle and Frances Cadwallader.1 He married, firstly, Anne Maria Spode, daughter of Josiah Spode, on 12 November 1839.1 He married, secondly, Emma Florence Mary Harford, daughter of Charles Joseph Harford, on 26 September 1870.1 He died on 21 June 1903.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the 21st Fusiliers.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Natal Carabiniers.1 He held the office of Colonial Secretary of Natal.1

     Anne Maria Spode was born circa 1823.2 She was the daughter of Josiah Spode.1 She married Lt.-Col. Hon. David Erskine, son of David Montagu Erskine, 2nd Baron Erskine of Restormel Castle and Frances Cadwallader, on 12 November 1839.1 She died on 3 November 1860.1
     From 12 November 1839, her married name became Erskine.

     Steuart Townsend Erskine was born on 23 November 1844.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Hon. David Erskine and Anne Maria Spode.1 He married Jessie Smith Buchanan, daughter of David Dale Buchanan and Mary Amm, on 17 January 1866.1 He died on 11 July 1918 at age 73, without issue.1

St. Vincent Whitshed Erskine1

     St. Vincent Whitshed Erskine was born on 22 February 1846.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Hon. David Erskine and Anne Maria Spode.1 He married Alice Lindley Buchanan, daughter of David Dale Buchanan and Mary Amm, in 1870.1 He died on 8 July 1918 at age 72.2 He was buried at Maitland Cemetery, Cape Town, Cape Province, South Africa.2
     In 1868 he discovered source of River Limpopo.1 He held the office of Surveyor-General of South Africa.1
