Sir Harold Pelly, 4th Bt. was born on 28 February 1863.1 He was the son of Sir John Henry Pelly, 2nd Bt. and Blanche Elizabeth Vincent.2 He married Anna Maria Poore, daughter of Major Robert Poore and Juliana Benita Lowry-Corry, on 5 March 1889.1 He died on 3 November 1950 at age 87.1
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Pelly, of Upton, Essex [U.K., 1840] on 4 June 1877.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry Cavalry.1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1885 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He gained the rank of Temporary Captain in the service of the 1st Volunteer Battalion, Dorset Regiment.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dorset.1
