     Elizabeth Rose Thornhill was the daughter of Thomas Thornhill.¹ She married Rev. Hon. William Henry Spencer, son of Francis Almeric Spencer, 1st Baron Churchill of Whichwood and Lady Frances Fitzroy, on 23 January 1838.¹ She died on 25 March 1851.¹
     From 23 January 1838, her married name became Spencer.

     Captain William Francis Spencer was born on 10 October 1838.¹ He was the son of Rev. Hon. William Henry Spencer and Elizabeth Rose Thornhill.¹ He married Margaret Georgiana Hemming, daughter of Walter Hemming, on 17 January 1874.¹ He died on 3 July 1923 at age 84.¹
     Captain William Francis Spencer gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 46th Foot.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Worcestershire.¹

     Margaret Georgiana Hemming was the daughter of Walter Hemming.¹ She married Captain William Francis Spencer, son of Rev. Hon. William Henry Spencer and Elizabeth Rose Thornhill, on 17 January 1874.¹ She died on 21 January 1935.¹

     Colonel John Almeric Walter Spencer fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1918, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He was decorated with the Legion of Honour (French).¹ He was decorated with the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.¹ He gained the rank of commanding offer between 1931 and 1935 in the service of the 163rd Infantry Brigade (Territorial Army).¹ He gained the rank of honorary Brigidier-General in 1935.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Rifle Brigade.¹

     Eleanor Georgiana Peel was the daughter of William Peel.¹ She married Colonel John Almeric Walter Spencer, son of Captain William Francis Spencer and Margaret Georgiana Hemming, on 7 August 1913.¹ She died on 11 June 1967.¹
     From 7 August 1913, her married name became Spencer.

     Captain John Lawrence Spencer was born on 9 January 1917.¹ He was the son of Colonel John Almeric Walter Spencer and Eleanor Georgiana Peel.¹ He married Jane Lilian Duff, daughter of Colonel Granville Duff, on 1 May 1943.¹ He died on 28 January 1967 at age 50, killed in an accident.¹
     Captain John Lawrence Spencer was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.¹ He was educated at Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Horse Artillery.¹ He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1945.¹ He was decorated with the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.).¹ He was decorated with the Military Cross (M.C.).¹

     Jane Lilian Duff is the daughter of Colonel Granville Duff.¹ She married Captain John Lawrence Spencer, son of Colonel John Almeric Walter Spencer and Eleanor Georgiana Peel, on 1 May 1943.¹
     From 1 May 1943, her married name became Spencer. She lived in 1999 at Ghyllas, Sedbergh, Cumberland, England.¹
