     Alfred Douglas-Hamilton was born on 21 April 1818.1 He was the son of Augustus Barrington Price Anne Powell Hamilton and Maria Catherine Hyde.1 He married, firstly, Adelaide Black, daughter of Alexander Black, on 17 July 1845.1 He married, secondly, Harriette Amy Blackburne Peters, daughter of W. H. Peters, on 27 October 1874.1 He died on 25 March 1895 at age 76.1
