     Louis Charles Philippe Raphael d'Orléans, Duc de Nemours was born on 25 October 1814 at Palais Royale, Paris, FranceG.3 He was the son of Louis Philippe I d'Orléans, Roi de France and Maria Amelia Teresa di Borbone, Principessa delle Due Sicilie.1 He married Victoire Franziska Prinzessin von Sachsen-Coburg-Saalfeld, daughter of Ferdinand Georg August Prinz von Sachsen-Coburg-Saalfeld and Marie Antoinette Kohary of Csabrag, on 27 April 1840 at Saint-Cloud, Île-de-France, FranceG.3 He died on 26 March 1896 at age 81 at Versailles, Île-de-France, FranceG.3 He was buried at Dreux, Department Eure et Loire, FranceG.3
     He gained the title of Prince Louis d'Orléans.4 He gained the title of Duc de Nemours.1 He gained the title of Prince Louis de France. In 1825 he refused the throne of Greece.3 In 1831 he refused the throne of Belgium.3 He fought in the Algerian Expedition between 1836 and 1841.3 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Holy Ghost.3

     He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Laws (D.C.L.) by Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Holland Regiment, later 3rd Foot (Buffs.)1 He fought in the Battle of Senaffe in 1676, where he was mortally wounded.1
