     Alice Elizabeth Mary Arbuthnot was born on 22 March 1990 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.^1,2 She is the daughter of Sir Keith Robert Charles Arbuthnot, 8th Bt. and Anne Rosemary Moore.¹

     Sir Hugh FitzGerald Arbuthnot, 7th Bt. was born on 2 January 1922.¹ He was the son of Brig.-Gen. Sir Dalrymple Arbuthnot, 5th Bt. and Alice Maud Arbuthnot.^1,2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Kathleen Williams, daughter of S/Ldr. George Gilbert Algernon Williams and Kathleen Mary Ansell, on 17 August 1949.¹ He married, secondly, Julia Grace Peake, daughter of Lt.-Col. Frederick Gerald Peake and Elspeth MacLean Ritchie, in 1977.¹ He died on 3 July 1983 at age 61.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Welsh Guards.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Arbuthnot, of Edinburgh [U.K., 1823] on 30 June 1944.¹ He was Master of Foxhounds, Ludlow between 1948 and 1952.¹ He was Master of Foxhounds, Cotswold between 1952 and 1964.¹ He was Master of Foxhounds, Duke of Buccleuch's between 1964 and 1983.¹

     Brig.-Gen. Sir Dalrymple Arbuthnot, 5th Bt. was born on 1 April 1867.¹ He was the son of Major Sir William Wedderburn Arbuthnot, 3rd Bt. and Alice Margaret Tompson.¹ He married Alice Maud Arbuthnot, daughter of Hugh Lyttleton Arbuthnot and Elizabeth Fountaine Walker, on 15 January 1918.² He died on 31 March 1941 at age 73.¹
     He fought in the Chitral Campaign in 1895.¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Shropshire.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Field Artillery.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches eight times.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1915.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1915.¹ He was commander of the 12th Corps in 1916.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Arbuthnot, of Edinburgh [U.K., 1823] on 31 May 1916.¹ He gained the rank of Honoary Brigadier-General in 1920.¹

     Sir Robert Keith Arbuthnot, 2nd Bt. was born on 9 September 1801 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.^1,2 He was the son of Sir William Arbuthnot, 1st Bt. and Anne Alves.³ He married Anne FitzGerald, daughter of Field Marshal Sir John Forster FitzGerald and Charlotte Hazen, on 20 March 1828 at Bombay, India^G.^3,2 He died on 4 March 1873 at age 71 at Florence, Italy^G.^1,2
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Arbuthnot, of Edinburgh [U.K., 1823] on 18 September 1829.³ He was in the Bombay Civil Service.²

     Sir William Arbuthnot, 1st Bt. was born on 24 December 1766.¹ He was the son of Robert Arbuthnot, 2nd of Haddo-Rattray and Mary Urquhart.¹ He married Anne Alves, daughter of John Alves and Helen Baillie, on 13 September 1800.¹ He died on 18 September 1829 at age 62 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.^3,2
     He held the office of Lord Provost of Edinburgh from 1822 to 1823.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Arbuthnot, of Edinburgh [U.K.] on 3 April 1823, He had held a banquet for the King, who supposedly enjoyed it so much that he awarded William a baronetcy rather than the traditional knighthood for the Lord Provost.^1,2 He held the office of Secretary to the Board of Trustees for Manufactures.¹

     Robert Arbuthnot, 2nd of Haddo-Rattray was baptised on 24 October 1728.³ He was the son of Robert Arbuthnot, 1st of Haddo-Rattray and Mary Petrie.³ He married Mary Urquhart, daughter of John Urquhart of Craigston and Cromarty and Jane Urquhart, in 1759.^1,3 He died on 5 November 1803 at age 75.³
     He lived at Haddo, Aberdeenshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Mary Urquhart was born in 1745.² She was the daughter of John Urquhart of Craigston and Cromarty and Jane Urquhart.^1,2 She married Robert Arbuthnot, 2nd of Haddo-Rattray, son of Robert Arbuthnot, 1st of Haddo-Rattray and Mary Petrie, in 1759.^1,2 She died on 14 May 1818.²
     From 1759, her married name became Arbuthnot.¹

     John Urquhart of Craigston and Cromarty was born in 1696.³ He was the son of James Urquhart of Knockleith.⁴ He married Jane Urquhart, daughter of William Urquhart of Meldrum and Mary Forbes, in 1737.⁴ He died in 1756.³
     He gained the rank of Captain.⁴ He lived at Cromarty, Argyllshire, Scotland^G.¹
