     Sir Hugh FitzGerald Arbuthnot, 7th Bt. was born on 2 January 1922.1 He was the son of Brig.-Gen. Sir Dalrymple Arbuthnot, 5th Bt. and Alice Maud Arbuthnot.1,2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Kathleen Williams, daughter of S/Ldr. George Gilbert Algernon Williams, on 17 August 1949.1 He married, secondly, Julia Grace Peake, daughter of Lt.-Col. Frederick Gerald Peake, in 1977.1 He died on 3 July 1983 at age 61.1

     Brig.-Gen. Sir Dalrymple Arbuthnot, 5th Bt. was born on 1 April 1867.1 He was the son of Major Sir William Wedderburn Arbuthnot, 3rd Bt. and Alice Margaret Tompson.1 He married Alice Maud Arbuthnot, daughter of Hugh Lyttleton Arbuthnot and Elizabeth Fountaine Walker, on 15 January 1918.2 He died on 31 March 1941 at age 73.1
     Brig.-Gen. Sir Dalrymple Arbuthnot, 5th Bt. fought in the Chitral Campaign in 1895.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Shropshire.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches eight times.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Royal Field Artillery.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1915.1 He was decorated with the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1915.1 He was commander of the 12th Corps in 1916.1 He succeeded to the title of 5th Baronet Arbuthnot, of Edinburgh [U.K., 1823] on 31 May 1916.1 He gained the rank of Honoary Brigadier-General in 1920.1

     Sir William Arbuthnot, 1st Bt. was born on 24 December 1766.1 He was the son of Robert Arbuthnot and Mary Urquhart.1 He married Anne Alves, daughter of John Alves and Helen Baillie, on 13 September 1800.1 He died on 18 September 1829 at age 62 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2,3
     Sir William Arbuthnot, 1st Bt. held the office of Lord Provost of Edinburgh from 1822 to 1823.1 He was created 1st Baronet Arbuthnot, of Edinburgh [U.K.] on 3 April 1823, He had held a banquet for the King, who supposedly enjoyed it so much that he awarded William a baronetcy rather than the traditional knighthood for the Lord Provost.1,3 He held the office of Secretary to the Board of Trustees for Manufactures.1
