     Mabel Slade was born on 7 May 1866.2 She was the daughter of Francis Henry Slade.1 She married William Reierson Arbuthnot, son of William Reierson Arbuthnot and Mary Helen Anstruther, on 5 December 1907.1 She died on 6 March 1947 at age 80.1
     From 5 December 1907, her married name became Arbuthnot.1

     Caroline Elizabeth Mabel Arbuthnot was born on 10 August 1912.1 She was the daughter of William Reierson Arbuthnot and Mabel Slade.1 She married Ralph Ernest Watkins Grubb, son of Reverend Ernest Watkins Grubb and Mary Pauline Bevan, on 23 March 1944.2 She was also reported to have been married on 24 March 1944.3 She died on 6 December 1989 at age 77.1
     She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Sussex in 1944.3 From 23 March 1944, her married name became Grubb.2
