     Edward Bacon was the son of Sir Nicholas Bacon and Jane Fernley.1 He married Helen Littel, daughter of Thomas Littel.1 He died on 8 September 1618.2
     He was the ancestor of the Bacons of Shrubland Hall.1 He lived at Shrubland Hall, Ipswich, Suffolk, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Yarmouth between 1576 and 1583.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Tavistock in 1584.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Suffolk from 1592 to 1593.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Weymouth in 1596.2 He held the office of Sheriff of Suffolk in 1601.2 He was appointed Knight on 11 May 1603.2
