Sir John Dean Paul, 2nd Bt. was born on 27 October 1802 at 218 The Strand, London, England.1 He was the son of Sir John Dean Paul, 1st Bt. and Frances Eleanor Simpson.1 He married, firstly, Georgiana Beauclerk, daughter of Charles George Beauclerk and Emily Charlotte Ogilvie, on 10 October 1826. He married, secondly, Susan Ewens, daughter of John Ewens, on 17 January 1849. He married, thirdly, Jane Constance Bugden, daughter of Thomas Bugden, in 1861. He died on 7 September 1868 at age 65.

Colonel Sir George Ashley Maude was born on 11 November 1817.2 He was the son of Rev. Hon. John Charles Maude and Mary Cely Trevilian.3 He married Katherine Katinka Beauclerk, daughter of Charles George Beauclerk and Emily Charlotte Ogilvie, on 5 April 1845.2 He died on 31 May 1894 at age 76.2
He fought in the Crimean War, and was severely wounded at the Battle of Balaclava.2 He was commander of the Royal Horse Artillery troop.2 He was Aide-de-Camp to the Commander-in-Chief in 1856.2 He was Military Attaché to Russia in 1856.2 He retired from the military in 1858, with the rank of Colonel, late of the Royal Artillery.2 He was Deputy-Inspector to the Royal Irish Constabulary between 1858 and 1859.2 He was Crown Equerry to HM Queen Victoria in 1859.2 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1887.2 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the Royal Horse Artillery, Woolwich.2
