     Maj.-Gen. Frederick Drummond Vincent Wing was born on 29 November 1860 at Christchurch, Hampshire, England.2 He was the son of Major Vincent Wing and Gertrude Elizabeth Fletcher-Vane.1 He married Mary Fitz-Clarence, daughter of Captain Hon. George Fitz-Clarence and Lady Maria Henrietta Scott, on 5 October 1905.1 He died on 2 October 1915 at age 54 at FranceG, killed in action.1
     He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, EnglandG.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1880 in the Royal Artillery.2 He gained the rank of Captain in 1888.2 He gained the rank of Major in 1898.2 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was mentioned in despatches six times.2 He gained the rank of Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel in 1900.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1902.1 He was Aide-de-Camp to the Commander-in-Chief between 1903 and 1904.2 He gained the rank of Major-General in the Royal Horse Artillery.1 He fought in the First World War.1

Major Vincent Wing1

     Major Vincent Wing married Gertrude Elizabeth Fletcher-Vane, daughter of Sir Francis Fletcher-Vane, 3rd Bt. and Diana Olivia Beauclerk, on 29 April 1857 at London, England.2 He died in 1874.2
     He gained the rank of Major in the 95th Regiment.1
