     Sir William Baillie of Polkemmet, 1st Bt. was born on 25 July 1782.1 He was the son of William Baillie, Lord Polkemmet and Margaret Colquhoun.1 He married Mary Lyon Dennistoun, daughter of James Dennistoun and Margaret Dreghorn, in 1815.1 He died on 28 January 1854 at age 71.1
