     Elizabeth Vans Agnew was born on 12 March 1854.1 She was the daughter of Robert Vans Agnew of Barnbarroch and Sheuchan and Mary Elizabeth Hunter Blair.1 She married Edward Salvin Bowlby, son of Reverend Edward Bowlby and Hannah Hodgson, on 10 June 1880.1 She died on 22 December 1937 at age 83.1
      From 10 June 1880, her married name became Bowlby.1
