     Sir Patrick Barnewall, 1st Bt. was the son of Sir Richard Barnewall and Elizabeth Plunkett.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth (?).1 He married, firstly, Cecilia Fleming, daughter of William Fleming, 11th Lord Slane and Elinor Fleming, before 1602.1 He died on 21 June 1624.1 His will (dated 24 March 1615, 26 March 1616 and June 1624) was probated on 18 October 1624.1
     Sir Patrick Barnewall, 1st Bt. was created 1st Baronet Barnewall, of Crickstown, co. Meath [Ireland] on 14 February 1622/23.1
     In 1625 He also had three daughters.2
