     Anne Mary Bates was born in 1915.1 She was the daughter of Sydney Arthur Bates and Mary da Costa Crosse.1 She married Lt.-Col. John Oliver-Bellasis, son of Captain Richard John Erskine Oliver-Bellasis and Gwendoline Mary Woollcombe-Adams, on 29 July 1939.1 She died on 23 May 2006.2
     From 29 July 1939, her married name became Oliver-Bellasis.1 She lived in 2003 at Beech House, Wootton St. Lawrence, Basingstoke, Hampshire, EnglandG.1

     Lt.-Col. John Oliver-Bellasis was born on 15 September 1900.2 He was the son of Captain Richard John Erskine Oliver-Bellasis and Gwendoline Mary Woollcombe-Adams.1,2 He married Anne Mary Bates, daughter of Sydney Arthur Bates and Mary da Costa Crosse, on 29 July 1939.1 He died on 6 October 1979 at age 79 at Basingstoke, Hampshire, England.1,3
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches and was wounded twice.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1944.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Fusiliers.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hampshire in 1950.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) for Hampshire in 1955.1 He lived in 1976 at Wootton House, Wootton St. Lawrence, Basingstoke, Hampshire, EnglandG.2

Captain Richard John Erskine Oliver-Bellasis1

     Captain Richard John Erskine Oliver-Bellasis was born on 30 January 1854.2 He was the son of Admiral Richard Aldworth Oliver and Flora Hutchins Bellasis.2 He married Gwendoline Mary Woollcombe-Adams, daughter of Lt.-Col. Edward Woollcombe-Adams, on 15 November 1899.2 He died on 17 June 1938 at age 84.2
     He was given the name of Richard John Erskine Oliver at birth.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the 20th Hussars.2 His name was legally changed to Richard John Erskine Oliver-Ballasis under the will of his maternal uncle, to which he succeeded to the Circourt, Berkshire property.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He lived at Shilton House, Coventry, Warwickshire, EnglandG.1
