She was the daughter of Francis Richard Charteris, 10th Earl of Wemyss and Lady Anne Frederica Anson.1 She married Sir John Robert William Vesey, 4th Viscount de Vesci of Abbey Leix, son of Lt.-Col. Sir Thomas Vesey, 3rd Viscount de Vesci of Abbey Leix and Lady Emma Herbert, on 4 June 1872.1 She died on 18 June 1939 at age 87.2
