     Sir George Ives Irby, 4th Baron Boston was born on 14 September 1802.1 He was the son of Sir George Irby, 3rd Baron Boston and Rachel Ives Drake.1 He married, firstly, Fanny Elizabeth Hopkins-Northey, daughter of William Richard Hopkins-Northey and Anne Elizabeth Fortescue, on 25 January 1830.1 He married, secondly, Caroline Amelia Saumarez, daughter of John St. Vincent Saumarez, 3rd Baron de Saumarez and Caroline Esther Rhodes, on 20 July 1861 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England.1,2 He died on 22 December 1869 at age 67 at 12 Wilton Crescent, London, England.1 His will was probated on 6 May 1870, at under £35,000.1
     Sir George Ives Irby, 4th Baron Boston was educated between 1814 and 1817 at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.3 He matriculated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, on 1 February 1821.1 He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1824 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baron Boston, of Boston, co. Lincoln [G.B., 1761] on 12 March 1856.1 He succeeded to the title of 5th Baronet Irby, of Whapload and Boston, co. Lincoln [G.B., 1704] on 12 March 1856.1

     Fanny Elizabeth Hopkins-Northey was the daughter of William Richard Hopkins-Northey and Anne Elizabeth Fortescue.1 She married Sir George Ives Irby, 4th Baron Boston, son of Sir George Irby, 3rd Baron Boston and Rachel Ives Drake, on 25 January 1830.1 She died on 14 April 1860 at Belgrave Square, London, England.1
     From 25 January 1830, her married name became Irby.1 As a result of her marriage, Fanny Elizabeth Hopkins-Northey was styled as Baroness Boston on 12 March 1856.
